DERBY town council has given approval for co-ordinated services with Trent Motor Traction on routes in the town centre and suburbs. Permission will need to be obtained from the Traffic Commissioners.
If amalgamation comes into operation, Derby Corporation alone hopes to save about £25,000 a year by running about two-thirds of the joint services on the routes specified. About six crews a day would be saved by the move; this would help to meet Derby's staff shortage.
