INCLUDED in a batch of semi-trailer 'chassis recently exported by R. A. Dyson and Co., Ltd., 76-80 Grafton Street, Liverpool, 8, was one of 18-20ton capacity, designed to accommodate a 32-ft. by 8-ft. body. It has a shallow drop frame which allows for 6-in. bearers at the rear.
The Dyson inverted springs have Their ends mounted in rubber-cushion blocks which give freedom from wear,
coupled with silent running. Twin• wheel supporting lees, mounted outside. the frame-members, are raised or
lowered by screw action. -Steel of 1-1section is used for the frame, which is fabricated by welding.
The four sets of twin wheels are fitted with 11.00 by 20-in. tyres, and are mounted on Timken tapered-ro1ler bearings. Each wheel assembly is secured to its hub by 10 studs.
