A series of high-level personnel changes are to be made at the National Bus Company in August when two of the executive directors retire.
Guy Newberry, currently director of operational development, is retiring at the end of August after 31 years in the bus industry. Among the posts he has held in this time are general manager of City of Oxford Motor Services and general manager of Potteries Motor Traction.
Walter Womar retires as director of management services, consultancy and property at the end of July, although he will continue in an advisory capacity until the end of the year.
The duties of a number of senior staff will be reallocated to cover these two vacated positions.
Anthony Beetham and Peter Scully will be jointly responsible for operational development, while Peter Wyke Smith, Raymond Sandall, Leonard Higgins and Harold Taylor will all take over various aspects of Mr Wornar's duties.
NBC subsidiary OxfordSouth Midland has appointed Harry Blundred as its new traffic manager. He replaces Peter Lutman who is being seconded to NBC's Consultancy Services division to manage a market analysis project.
Mr Blundred, who is at present the traffic manager and planning manager at Southdown, takes up his new post at the beginning of June.
