pilot project called SETPOS (Secured European Truck Parking Operational Services). Championed by Danish MEP Anne Jensen and Dutch MEP Corien-Wortmann Kool, the project secured €5.2m of EC funds to invest in five flagship truckstops at the following locations: Ashford (UK)
Valenciennes (France)
WOrnitz and Uhrsleben (Germany) Liege (Belgium) SETPOS was followed by Label in 2009. This project received half its €2.7m budget from the EC with the rest from 41 industry partners. Truckstops were invited to apply for accreditation under five headings: comfort and dignity; safety: security, services; and food and shopping. So far 70 truckstops have been audited.
