BECAUSE supplies of alumina and manufactured products to and from the works of the British Aluminium Co„ Ltd., at Foyers on Loch Ness, no longer go by the Caledonian Canal, Mr. John Robertson, Inverness haulier, sought via increase in tonnage before the Scottish Licensing Authority in Aberdeen, last week.

It was stated that no vessel had called at Foyers with raw material or to take away metal since March, and that it was unlikely that water-borne transport would ever be used again. The applicant said that an increasing burden had been placed upon his facilities. The case was adjourned to allow him to prepare detailed evidence about recent work.
