1-1. A .MODiFIF.D B-licence application
was granted to Sidney Margolis Ltd., South East London, by the Metropolitan Licensing Authority, Mr. D. L R. Muir on Wednesday. The grant authorized the use of three vans 'for the carriage of goods, excluding furniture and air freight, within 25 miles of the Elephant and Castle railway station. The loads are to be carried for four named companies.
The original application was for five vehicles to carry toiletries, household and general goods within 50 miles of the Elephant and Castle and on odd occasions within 200 miles of London.
Mr. Muir drew attention to a notice he had received from Margolis saying that in order to secure withdrawal of objections by British Railways and F. V. Carroll and Sons Ltd., of Hounslow, the applicant had modified the application.
Mr. Thomas Railton, general Manager for Margolis, said the amended application covered most of the things Margolis wanted to do. Mr. Muir: "I think you would have shortened the proceedings if ,rou had thought more carefully about what you wanted in the first place."
