traffic and for coping with awkward situations, are almost invariably competent craftsmen—although perhaps in the past they have been apt to be too retiring. This year some of their representatives have been more in the public eye and one of those competing at the Lorry Driver of the Year final this month will be Don Rickman who, it may be recalled, won Class C at Fleetwood in the face of keen competition. Rickman has been a corporation cleansing department driver there for 15 years.
