• MAN has revised the standard rear axle ratio fitted to its 100kW (136hp) 7.5-tonne 8.13F light truck range.
Of the five 8.136F wheelbases, the 3.6,4.25,4.6 and 5.1m chassis now have a 3.9:1 rear axle ratio as standard which replaces the previous 4.41:1 axle.
This higher ratio gives the 8.136F a maximum geared speed of 117kmih(73mph) and a cruising speed of 97km/h(60mph) at 2,567rpm, which MAN claims is better than any 7.5-tonner in the UK.
The shortest wheelbase 8.136F chassis available — the 3.1nun — keeps the 4.44:1 rear axle ratio, as it is used primarily as a tipper or skiploader chassis and not for highspeed trunking work.
