TRAFFIC TSAR
Alistair Darling (right) has announced plans to appoint a "Traffic Tsar" to oversee traffic In the UK. The director, who could be appointed as early as this year, will be given direct responsibility for monitoring roadworks and rephasing traffic lights; eventually the "Tsar" would be given legal powers. A "Traffic Tsar" Is also to be appointed in the West Midlands.
