A REVISED pay offer has averted a strike by 30 tanker drivers at Shell Direct but union leaders say they have still failed to negotiate a settlement at Gleaner Oils.

The two Scottish oil distribution companies were both threatened with a series of one-day stoppages and an overtime ban after drivers rejected the original 5.37% offer (CM 6 May).
