CARDIFF Corporation committee are considering plans for the proposed bus station, to cost about £100,000, on the site now being cleared between the central railway station frontage and Wood Street.
One of the plans has been submitted by the architect to the promoters of the scheme. It embraces a public, exhibition and concert hall on part of the site, at a cost ,of £350,000, and, in addition to the bus station, provides for a coach station underground beneath the bus station. The proposed facilities are on an ambitious scale.
The bus companies, including the operators of long-distance services, have discussed with the corporation their contributions to the cost of the station. The definite decision of the corporation is that the bus station will have, at least, platforms, waiting rooms, offices, etc.
It is understood that on November 5 the corporation representatives discussed the bus-station details with the G.W.R. Co.
