Marked progress in rates stabilization was reported at a general meeting, last Friday, of Glasgow and District Horse and Motor Contractors Associa
tion. The milk-haulage rates are to continue in force for another year. A schedule of charges has also been fixed for transporting bricks, eggs, fish and produce. A further meeting is to be held in connection with rates for hauling building materials.
Members of the Transport Advisory Council would be elected in February, Mr. D. MacKay, secretary, announced. There was a feeling that the interests c20
of motor users were not sufficiently represented on the Council and the Ministry of Transport had invited consideration of this matter.
