COVENTRY County Council is saving £25,000 by rearranging the times of free travel offered to old-age pensioners. Pass-holders have been given permission by West Midlands County Council to travel free throughout the county instead of being restricted to the City of Coventry area.
The new hours mean that -passes will no longer be available for any journey between 3.30pm and 6pm on Mondays to Fridays, but extended periods of free travel will be offered in the late evening and on Saturdays.
