IF the proposed 10s. toll for commercial
vehicles using the new Tay road bridge is imposed, major Scottish hauliers will boycott the bridge. The Scottish area committee of the RHA agreed this in Glasgow on Monday.
Mr. Leslie Stokoe, area secretary, said: "We have agreed to make representations to the Scottish Secretary to put forward our objections to the extortionate sum asked for commercial vehicles using the Tay bridge."
The 10s. toll has been proposed by the Tay Road Bridge Joint Board but has not yet been ratified by the Scottish Office.
