TN a serious attempt to -afurther what he regards as inadequate training facilities for road transport management, Mr. Reginald P. Block, who recently relinquished his posts as managing director of a number of companies, is to devote much of his time to coordinating
available training facilities.
Mr. Block was founder of Blox Services Ltd., Blox (Polar Blast) Services Ltd., and Burn Transit.
Having established offices at 7 Brighton Road, Surbiton, Surrey (phone Elinbridge 9434), Mr. Block is to spend the rest of his time in transport consultancy. He has already undertaken a number of transport surveys; including one for the Rank Organization, and has recently been retained by another major company.
Mr. Block has had a great personal interest in training transport personnel for many years and has gained the support of the Traders Road Transport Association and educational establishments, as well as major companies in the vehicle manufacturing industry.
During detailed enquiries which Mr. Block has conducted, he has found that the emphasis placed on training in production techniques has not been reproduced by the same industries in transport. All too often responsibility for transport is not delegated to a particular executive.
In this way, says Mr. Block, many profit "leaks" take place.
