• The second leader in Commercial Motor of February 14 was quoted to the South Wales Traffic Commissioners at Cardiff when eight major bus companies applied for the introduction of a multi-journey ticket to replace present weekly tickets in the area.
Mr. F. H. Pengelly, traffic manager of Western Welsh Omnibus Co. Ltd., quoted the editorial to emphasize the co-ordination between the companies concerned and the local authorities.
"This editorial is interesting," said the chairman, Mr. Ronald R. Jackson. "This co-ordination between companies is something which Traffic Commissioners throughout my time have been preaching. It is nice to see that it is now being effected.
"I think the heading on this editorial is rather clever—'United Welsh'."
The applications were granted and a dispensation given to Cardiff Corporation whose application had not yet been listed.
