AN INITIAL £120,000 has bee spent by Containerbases Lti the nationwide group of inlan container ports, in equippin some of its members with at vanced electronic protectio systems.
The protected bases so far a r at Aintree and Stourton, an there is also a pilot scheme E the Scottish base at Coatbridgc near Glasgow.
The installations consis mainly of sensitised perimete fencing linked to closed-circui TV cameras, and include vide' recorders.
Another feature is a vehicli entry and exit system which car be set to record all vehicles pass ing through the control point ir terms of time, date and identity.
The systems have been de signed and manufactured b) Television Control Systems Ltc of Southport, Merseyside, anc installed by Wardells Securit Services Ltd of Warrington.
