AWEST COUNTRY traffic clearing house set
up last month by 16 hauliers is proving successful, and four new members have already applied to join. Trading under the name of Three Counties Transport (Western) Ltd., with Mr. C. H. Baulch, of Chard Transport Co., as president, it covers a wide range of haulage activities, from tipping to refrigerated trunking.
Original members are: A. H. Baker (Haulage), G. H. Bown and Sons, Bridgwater Warehousing Co., Bridgwater Haulage Co., Chard Transport Co., A. D. Forsey, Govier Bros., Ivor Govier and Son, E. A. Major and Sons, Massey and Wilcox, Miles and Allway, Rogers Transport, M. S. Small, F. Taylor, Harold Tottle Transport, and W. Viney Ltd. Most of these are in Somerset.
Now Edmonds Transport, of Weymouth, and three other hauliers, have asked to join, and Mr. Baulch told COMMERCIAL Moron this week that the co-operative scheme was "going very well".
