• Following the success of the original Dial-a-Ride system in Regina, Saskatchewan, several other Canadian cities are to try their own services. A computer monitoring system costing $ 2m is currently being installed at Winnipeg.
The system has been operating in Regina for more than a year. It covers a 2.75 square mile area and serves 38,000 people. Ordinary buses together with two 16-seaters and a 23-seater are used.
