• A fleet of 17 new Dennis Dominators has been delivere to local authorities, all bodied by Blackburn-based East Lancashire Coachbuilders.
Kingston-Upon-Hull City Transport has taken the first 10 Dominators to be fitted wi a Cummins/ZF driveline. Hull has bought 45 Dominators since 1984, and has ordered another 10 for next year.
Warrington Borough Transport has bought six Dominata for its Coachline operation: tIA are fitted with 76 coach seats and ABS brakes, the other foi are 88-seaters.
All six are fitted with Gardner 6LXCT engines and Voith automatic gearboxes. Warring ton is to take five more Doini nators next year.
Lastly, a solitary Dominatoi has gone to Ispwich Transpor again powered by the Gardnei Voith combination.
The two-door bodywork fei tures a square-landing staircase. This takes up more space than the conventional type of staircase, but Ipswich Transport believes it to be much safer.
The East Lanes body will b evaluated over the coming months as an eventual replact ment for Ipswich's Beet of Le land Atlanteans.
