QN Wednesday the Motor Agents' Association launched a new type of guarantee system covering vehicle purchase and repair. It is to be, known as the Fidelity scheme and will be operated by M.A.A. members. Under it, a customer in dispute with an M.A.A. member operating the scheme. will have the right to independent arbitration in the matter, including professional inspection of the vehicle if necessary, at no cost to the customer; there is a returnable 3 gn. deposit to discourage frivolous complaints. Should the trader fail to pay the amount awarded by the arbitrator, the M.A.A. guarantees payment, up to a limit of 1500 on any one claim.
