• Artie drivers' training courses run by York Trailer Co. Ltd., as a customer service, have been approved by the R.T.I.T.B., so they now qualify for the Board's "off-the-job" training grants.
The courses are held at York's Corby, Northants, works, They last two days and normally cost a customer £9, plus expenses, for each driver sent. Training includes artic driving theory, instruction in trailer loading and manoeuvring, driving and emergency braking practice. Drivers are taken to a disused airfield at Harringworth, near Corby, for their initial driving practice and for manoeuvring and emergency braking instruction.
