MOTIL, a medium-duty utility truck, has been introduced by Johnson Construction Machinery Ltd of Stockport.
It is powered by an air-cooled twin-cylinder Petter PH2 diesel engine with hydraulic power take-off and electric starting. The truck has front-wheel steering and engine and a front driving position and is fitted with a three-forward one-reverse double-reduction gearbox and is capable of road speeds of up to 24km/h (15mph). The chassis has a steel fabricated frame, made from rolled steel channels.
Johnson claims that the Motil will run for five and a half hours (an average working day) for as little as the cost of one and a half gallons of diesel.
