During the first nine months of is year commercial vehicle exorts earned Britain £471m !hile we imported only £316m !orth of commercial vehicles, !aving us with a £155m trade Jrplus. This, says the Society of lotor Manufacturers and Tradrs, is due to both increased exorts and reduced imports.
This favourable record by the ommercial vehicle manufacturrs and also by the motor parts nd accessory manufacturers as helped compensate for a 3rge deficit in the car market. Overall, the motor industry ad a £200m trade surplus for he first nine months of 1980.
