• Hertfordshire haulier Fleetlink is to take over the 80reefer fleet of chilled meat distributor Quantock Transport.
This follows the purchase of a majority stake in Fleetlink by Quantock's owner Gordon Meats (Smithfield). Quantock will be renamed Fleetlink Frozen and Chilled Division.
Managing director and founder of Fleetlink, which operates 110 vehicles and 350 trailers, Paul Davison, says the move will boost Fleetlink's turnover to £12 million and give it an opening into chilled and frozen foods distribution. Quantock's turnover is currently around E4 Davison is the son of John Davison, chairman of Durhambased John Dee Group, but the two firms are unconnected. Fleetlink is involved in contract transport and international haulage. New owner Gordon Meats had a turnover of 2200 million prior to its majority shareholding in Fleetlink.
