Skills plans grow after licence cut

• Skills, the Nottinghambased coach company, has bij plans for the future, despite falling foul of the Eastern Tra fic Commissioner, who cut th company's license from 46 to 35 vehicles in August (CM 11 17 August).
Nigel Skill and his brother Simon, who bought the firm from their father last December, say they have cleaned tig the Skills act and plan to spec 2.445,000 on new vehicles.
They have already taken dc livery of three Volvo BIOMs, four Mercedes-Benz coaches and a Volkswagen minibus.
Next year they plan to acquire 12 more Volvos and twc more Mercedes. Present strength is some 45 vehicles, of which 10 are working for other companies within the Skills group.
Alex Smith Coachays holds five-vehicle licence, as does G Littlewood of Sheffield. Nigel Skill is pushing to increase their allocation: "We have recently applied for an extra five licences at Sheffield and have every reason to believe we wi be successful." he says.
