Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The AEC V8 Mandator, which was ntroduced in May, will be shown at the :7ommercial Motor Show in both home and :xport versions. The latter will be in the lemonstration park and a feature of the eft-hand drive chassis will be a sleeper cab 'ersion of the Ergomatic "Thru-way" unit.

While the V8 Mandator four-wheel tracive unit is designed to operate at 32 tons ;ross combination weight in the UK, the xport version will carry a 38/40 tons gross ating. The V8-740 diesel which gives an rutput of 247 bhp at 2,600 rpm, according o the British Standard AU 141 gross clas&cation, is rated at 252 bhp on the Gernan DIN standards and 269 bhp in Amenan SAE grossterms. The chassis has a 0-speed semi-automatic gearbox with a 3-ton capacity rear axle and 9in. centre louble-reduction driving head.

Braking on the export chassis is in accorlance with Continental two-line standards ■ ut there are lock-actuator parking brakes upplemented by an exhaust brake and wake-effort load-proportioning equipment is itted at the driving axle brakes.

A Priifekt rear-engined luxury coach will be shown at Earls Court by Missing Automobilwerk A.G., ao Glas Concessionaires (GB) Ltd., Alexandra Docks, King's Lynn, together with a BS 19 S tractive unit (Commercial Motor, May 17 1968) and a BS 15 L 16-ton underfloor-engined four-wheeled rigid.

The Prifekt is powered by a U 11 D direct-injection six-cylinder diesel developing 210 bhp DIN at 2,100 rpm and a maximum torque of 579 lb.11. at 1,300 rpm. The unit is located horizontally under the floor behind the rear axle on the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and the drive is transmitted through a ZF gearbox. Monocoque construction is employed and other details include a full air-suspension system and air-assisted hydraulic brakes.

Of the forward-control type the BS 19 S has a wheelbase of 3m (9ft. 10in.) and is equipped with 10.00-20 tyres. A Bussing S 11 D 11.58-litre direct-injection diesel engine also produces 210 bhp DIN at 2,100 rpm while its gross torque of 578 lb.ft. is developed at 1,300 rpm. Drive is transmitted through a ZF six-speed constant-mesh gearbox and an Eaton 10-ton two-speed axle.

The BS 15 L 16-tonner is equipped with a U 7 D diesel located under the floor behind the cab. The unit develops 155 bhp DIN at 2,400 rpm and a maximum torque of 354 lb_ft. at 1,400 rpm.
