GRAMP1AN HOLDINGS, the Scottish %-.1 investment company, have acquired the business of W. H. Malcolm, Ltd., road transport and haulage contractors. operating in Renfrewshire. The purchase price was £216,000, made up of £189,000 in cash and.23,685 Ordinary shares of 5s. each in Grampian.
Profits of W. H. Malcolm have Eisen steadily over the past 10 years to £68.010 in 1960. Net assets at October 31 last were /136,700.
Malcolm's have a fleet of 40 vehicles, comprising 31 tippers. four artics and five flats, about 10 of which are on A licence and the remainder on B licence.
They are the first transport company to be taken over by the Grampian organization.
Mr. Donald Malcolm is to continue as managing director and the management and staff will remain with the firm e6
