Two pasties are better than one

I READ with interest how Stobart Group’s chief executive Andrew Tinkler is condemning two-for-one deals by the supermarket chains, claiming it’s had an adverse effect on the business (CM 26 May).
Today I had two pasties for my lunch (not from Tesco), purchased for me by a wagon driver (and not a Stobart driver). I wonder what Tinkler and the other Stobart heads had for their lunch? When you live like me on £65 a week with numerous bills to pay, or are in a low-wage HGV driver job, you can’t complain about these deals which save the consumer money.
If Tinkler’s company somehow managed to go down the pan, then he too would be grateful for these offers. If you don’t like what your customers are doing, then maybe let someone else do the work who would be grateful for it.
