ACOMPACT compressor-type spray painting outfit—the Miller Mini— has been introduced to the U.K. market by the Teddington Engineering Co. Ltd., Teddington, Middx.
The complete unit retails at £14 14s. 6d., and consists of an electrically driven air compressor (measuring only 8 in. long by 5.25 in. wide by 8.5 in. high) and a 2-pint spray gun. The Miller Mini is claimed to give a good volume of spray to cover large areas quickly and a high standard of finish.
Two New Standards
THE British Standards Institution has recently published two new standards dealing with dimensions of cylinder liners. They are 11.5.3525—dimensions of dry type unflanged and flanged interference fit cylinder liners and B.S.3526--clinnensions of wet type cylinder liners for fourstroke engines.

ANEW hand microphone especially developed for use in noisy conditions has been introduced by Shure Electronics, Ltd., 84 Blackfriars Road, London, S.E.1.
Known as the Model 488 Noisecancelling Microphone,. the instrument suppresses unwanted background noise and provides high speech intelligibility in difficult conditions.
Flasher Set
Pl.A FLASHER signal set suitable for light commercial vehicles has been introduced by Wipac Group Sales Ltd., London Road, Buckingham. The setS3104—comprises four amber lamps, a combined flasher switch and warning light, and flasher unit and 'costs £3 18s.
Automatic Draining
A PAMPHLET describing an automatic L.-drain valve recently added to their range of ancillary air pressure equipment is available from the Westinghouse Brake and Signal Co. Ltd., Hanham Road, Kingswood, Bristol. The valve is suitable for vehicle_applications when it would be operated from an intermittent pressure line such as the service brake line.
Increased Torque Meter Range
THE manufacturers of Torquemaster dial-reading torque-measuring instruments—Precise Torque Ltd., Ascot Drive, Derby—have made recent additions to their range and over a dozen models are now available. These enable torque 5 lb. in. to 4,000 lb. ft. to be measured.
