FHERE are not many companies in the commercial vehicle business that can claim a history going back 75 years. Scaniaabis of Sweden can, and decided that reaching this venerable age
as something worth celebrating. And celebrate it certainly did!
Guests—there were about 500—included top names in transort from all over Europe, and some farther-away places, who 'ere flown into Sweden for the occasion. The main events took lace last Friday and in the evening the town of Sodertalje—home of cania-Vabis--was given over completely to the celebrations with II types of entertainment—dancing, music, displays and fireworks.
Before the 45,000-odd inhabitants of the town began their fun iere were several official events. The King of Sweden attended in ie afternoon and was present at a "Jubilee Cavalcade" of cars nd commercials produced by Scania-Vabis over the years and later new f230,000 test track was inaugurated with current vehicles howing their paces. Later, the King formally opened new 070,000 ffices for the company.
