AN application for the renewal of seven A licences for the carriage of general goods within 35 miles was heard by Mr. D. I. R. Muir at the Metropolitan Licensing Court on Tuesday. Applicant Mr. Albert Tarrant sought to renew an A licence which had been in operation for a number of years. The LA had been informed by his examiners that in June 1966 the applicant was operating only two of the seven licensed vehicles. Mr. Tarrant told the LA that he had
three vehicles, the third being a spare. sold the others in 1963."
Letters supporting the application were produced in court but the LA pointed out that he could not authorize a licence for non-existent vehicles. He granted an A licence for three vehicles and advised the applicant that if he wished to build up his fleet he would require to do so by the production of suitable evidence.
