AN application has been submitted to the “. Northern Traffic Commissioners for a joint bus service to be run by Middlesbrough and Stockton corporations and the Tees-side Railless Traction Board between Eston, Brookfield, Thornaby and Stockton which would run from Eston via Normanby, Orrnesby, Marton Bungalow crossroads, Brookfield, the new Thornaby industrial estate, Thornaby town centre and along the present "11" route to Stockton High Street.
The Traction Board has been informed that the Minister of' Transport, Mrs. Barbara Castle, agrees to its proposals to establish a circular trolley bus service linking four areas in the Eston urban district—Eston, Normanby South Bank and Grangetown. She is prepared to make the necessary order when the new half-mill stretch of road linking the end of Fabian Rom with the A174 between Lackenby and Eston i finished.
