"COMMON MARKET transport
‘.--• policy with particular reference to road -transport" will be among the subjects covered by papers read at the weekend conference at Bournemouth from October 11-13. organized by the London Division of the Traders Road Transport Association.
The paper on the Common Market will be given by Mr. John Bannard of Unilever, Ltd. Mr. Bannard is a member of the T.R.T.A,'s international Committee and the British., representative on the committee of European transport of the International Chamber of Commerce. Other papers in the programme include: "Practical Operating Problems," by Mr. H. C. Cavanagh, of Pye, Ltd. Mr. Cavanagh, it is pointed out, has to operate his vehicles throughout Britain and Europe, including East European countries, " T.R.T.A. Policy and Current Problems," by Mr. K. C. Turner, the Association's president.
"Road Safety," by Mr. S. Rattan, Schweppes, Ltd. Mr. Hattan believes his company is the first to employ a full-time road safety officer. He is to explain this work and report on the encouraging results now emerging.
"Vehicle Construction, Maintenance— Perennial Problems." by Mr. F. H. Farquharson, of Shell-Mex and B.P., Ltd.
" T.R.T.A. Divisional Organization anti the work of the Area," by Mr. Fl. C. Chandler.
