FOLLOWING certain criticisms of Cardiff Corporation's bus drivers, the transport manager has championed their cause, pointing out that during the past year no man has been charged with dangerous driving, and that in the few cases where drivers have been charged with failing to exercise care and attention—not in itself a serious offence, it is submitted—extenuating circumstances have generally existed.
It is further pointed out that nine drivers have qualified for a bar for the " Safety First" silver medal (six years' freedom from accident), five drivers are entitled to a silver medal (five years' freedom from accident), and 48 inen have obtained the one-year freedom from accident diploma. Of the last number many drivers are said to be in their second, third or fourth years.
