which has been certified by the Ministry of Labour as safe for use in inflammable atmospheres, is now available from the General Electric Co., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, I .ondon, W.C.2.

The equipment. consists of a miner's type of lamp connected by a flexible lead to a separate battery container, a webbing body-harness, and a heavygauge elastic harness Which will fit over any normal headgear. The lamp is prefocused and may be switched on and off by rotation of the bezel. It can be worn in any position on the webbing body-harness or on the elastic headharness.

The moulded Neoprene battery container is stated to be waterproof, impervious to oil or petroleum, and fire

resistant. It is carried behind the user on the body-harness waist belt. Powered by three standard 11--v. cells, the lighting set weighs slightly over 3 lb. and costs £8 10s, with batteries.

Wheeled Storage Sections QTORAGE sections mounted on three

wheels and pivoted within a container framework are being made by Carbidall, Ltd., Hodson Street, Blackburn, Lancs. The sections may be withdrawn and retracted easily, and their use is claimed to reduce storage space by up to 75 per cent, compared with normal means. The system is said to he equally efficient for fastor slowmoving stocks.

Oil-fired Space Heater A N oil-fired space heater, intended

for use in garages and workshops, now being produced by Newton, Chambers and Co., Ltd., Thorncliffe, Sheffield. It has a heating capacity of 8,000-16,000 Cu. ft., and is designed for burning oil fuel.

ts16 Minimum output is 12,000 B.Th.L. per hour, whilst the maximum is.45,000 B.Th.U. per hour. Running costs are said to range from approximately lid. to a little under 6d. per hour. The retail price of the new heater, whith measures 30 in, by 24 in. by 31 in., is £47 17s. 6d.

17-ft. Collapsible Tilt ACOLLAPSIBLE lorry tilt which can be made to egtend to a maximum length of 17 ft. and to fit all standard vehicle widths, is now being produced by John Smith and Co. (London), Ltd., Hainault Road, Chadwell Heath, Roinford, Essex.

The frame hoops are attached to lazytong arms, which arc mounted on the front corner pillars of the body and may be extended to give the length of coverage required. Additional supports ensure adequate frame stiffness.

King Dick Additions A COMBINED ring and open-ended "I' fuel-injector spanner and a screwdriver bit for Phillips screws have been added to the range of tools produced by King Dick, Abingdon Works, King's Road, Tyseley, Birmingham.

The spanner has been designed with a reduced wall thickness at the ring end for use on oil-engine injectors where the working clearance is limited, whilst the screw-driver bit may be used with a standard 4-in. square-drive socket set. It is intended for removing brake-drum

securing screws, door-hinge screws, and so on, where extra purchase is required.

New Lucas Ammeters A NEW range of ammeters is announced. by Joseph Lucas, Ltd., Great King Street, Birmingham, 19. A wide variety of types is available and full details are contained in the company's publication No. 1453, which may be obtained from their advertising department. For cases where provision is not made for carrying an ammeter in the normal instrument panel, brackets are obtainable.

Polythene Electrical Tape A RECENT addition to the range of fl Sellotape self-adhesive tape is Polythene electrical tape, which has an insulation resistance of 5m. megohms and, a dielectric strength of 13,300v. It is available in red, black, blue, green, yellow and white rolls of 25 yd., and

in widths of i in., j in. and in., and increasing widths at i-in. intervals.

The new product is marketed by the Industrial Seliotape Division of Gordon and Gotch, Ltd., 8-10 Paul Street, London, E.C.2.

New Universal Da THE latest addition to the range marketed by Fina Petroleum Products, Ltd., 25 Victoria Street, London, S.W.1, is Fina Arian universal oil. It contains a special adherent additive to ensure a long-lasting film of lubricant, even on vertical surfaces, and an inhibitor to keep metal surfaces free from rust. It costs is. 3d. per 4-oz. tin.

New Tote Bins r'irWO new tote bins are announced by L Precision Components (Barnet), Ltd., 13 Byng Road, Barnet, Herts. Moulded in Polythene, they are light in weight, yet strong enough to withstand hard usage, and are free from rough and sharp edges. Two sizes are available, costing 7s. 9d. and 13s. 6d, each.
