rWO Highland bus operators—Mr
Norman Sutherland, of Highland Omni'uses Ltd., Inverness, and Mr Joseph Fraser, if J. M. Fraser, Forres, were congratulated iy the deputy Scottish LA, Mr L. A. Wells, t Inverness.
He said of their joint plan to take Royal Iighland Fusiliers home to Glasgow from heir base at Fort George on weekend leave it a fare of 30s: "It is less than Id a mile and I think it is n excellent service."
The operators said the buses could also be Ned on other services in the Glasgow area uring weekends. They claimed that this eould help to cut costs.
The companies originally applied separtely to run the service on alternate weeks vhen 160 men from the Fort get leave but igreed that Highland should operate the first, third and fourth buses and Fraser's the second vehicle.
Mr Wells granted the amended application.
