WHALE Tankers has more than doubled its 1975 export figures during 1976 — and it received orders worth more than £300,000 for export during the last quarter of the year.
Orders came from Abu Dhabi, Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria and Norway and export production rose to over one third of tanker production during the quarter.
Staff have also agreed to increase the working week to 45 hours to cope with the outstanding export orders, to keep delivery dates.
The company says that it is looking forward to even higher export production during the next year, which may overtake production of effluent tankers for the UK market.
