ON the ground that Scottish transport is at present unco-ordinated, the Convention of Royal Burghs of Scotland is to ask the Government to set up a Scottish transport authority. The Transport and Roads Committee of the Convention has put forward the idea so that "antagonistic interests" in the transport world can be linked by an overall body.
The committee also wants heavier spending on Scottish roads and bridges.
