CAMP services are among matters which the Minister of Transport has referred to the Thesiger Committee of inquiry into public service vehicle
licensing. He said in the House of Commons, last week, that he was concerned about the disparity of fares between road and rail, especially with regard to week-end leave of personnel of the R.A.F.
"it was quite rightly held," he said, "that if there was an alternative service which might save Bs. a week, -that is a sum which would eat into the pay of an R.A.F. recruit. That is another aspect of the matter which I have asked the committee to consider."
Other subjects for consideration include contract-carriage operation, and the changes brought about in the licensing situation by the substantial acquisition of holdings in road passenger transport' by the British Transport Commission.
