A range of chemical vehicle cleaners for use without brushes has been introduced by the metal finishing division of Pyrene.
Pyroclense 1400, one of the cleaners, is designed to be sprayed over a vehicle, either by an arch, or by a spray lance. Cost per application is estimated by Pyrene at about 15p for a large road tanker.
Another chemical, for chassis cleaning, is supplied as a stable emulsion or, where there is a disposal problem, as a quicksplit emulsion.
Thirdly, a chemical cleaner — Pyroclense 1212 — has been developed specifically for keeping unpainted aluminium bodies clean and is intended to prevent the "etch" effect of conventional cleaning methods and ensure maximum brightness of the metal.
