From our Industrial Correspondent ONDON TRANSPORT chiefs and leaders of their 32,000 busmen were due to meet again yesterday (Thursday) in what was generally regarded as a final attempt to bring to a successful conclusion the long-drawn-out negotiations for a new deal for both bus crews and the travelling public.
As the two sides met for the seventh time since the Phelps Brown Committee of Inquiry's report the pay gap still separating the two sides had been narrowed to Ss. On everything else— shorter hours, holidays, sick pay and the proposals for technical improvements— there was agreement, in principle at least.
