OF value to operators of vehicles weighing up to 2 tons, a new ramp developed by Chamberlain Industries, LtdStaffa Road, London, E.10, works on the see-saw principle. It is pivoted in the centre, so that a vehicle driven beyond the pivot causes the ramp to tip over, raising the vehicle from the ground.
Hydraulic dash pots operate both ways after the weight of the vehicle has passed the point of balance and give a compensating effect. A hand winch and an automatic safety catch are included in the specification.
Overall dimensions are: Length, 21 ft. 6 ins., width 5 ft. ll ins, and height 2 ft. 31 ins. The total weight is a) cwt. The ramp is of all-steel construction and can be set up without excavation.
