Trans Global Electronics are showing, for the first time in Scotland.their Trasonic leak detector.
This device picks up ultrasonic within a band of 38 to 40 kilocycles per second, converting them to an audible signal.
The unit s hand rnircophone is used to locate the spot from which air is escaping and by using the localizing sound pick-up extension leaks can be pinned down to within very small areas.
Body and tank leaks can be traced by placing the sound producer in the unit to be tested. The sound waves emitted from the unit through any leak register on the meter — located outside — similarly to leaking air.
The Trasonic leak detector is powered by two PP3 batteries ano built into the receiver is a switch with three positions on, off and battery test. A volume-control knob and a meter graduated in a colour code is also contained in the unit.
