This was an important feature of the Ministry of Transport's experimental oneway traffic scheme for the Bond StreetDavies Street area of the West End. IL was one of a number of traffic experiments in London designed to ease conditions when the Hyde Park Underpass was opened this week.
London Transport said last week that it welcomed the special bus lane idea. which is in wide use on the Continent and America.
