• Production of Daimler Fleetline doubledeck bus chassis has been moved to British Leyland's main truck and bus assembly plant at Leyland, Lancs. Fleetlines are now being built on a static line alongside Leyland Atlanteans.
The move has been caused., says British Leyland, by increasing demand for Jaguar cars, components for which will be assembled in the old bus plant at Coventry.
More than 9000 Fleetlines have been built since the design was introduced in 1961. The last Coventry-built bus was shipped to Hong Kong on September 30.
