• Peugeot has revealed its revamped Partner van which is expected to reach the UK by the end of November. The latest Partner, which will also be sold as a personnel carrier, features a new front end, redesigned Interior and uprated comfort and safety features.
It will be available in either standard trim, with a payload of 600kg, or in comfort trim, with a 600kg or BOOkg payload. Engine options include two petrol 11.4 and 1.6-litre) and two diesel (1.9 and 2.0-litre Nil.
Peugeot says the suspension, brakes, steering wheel and tyres have all been changed, and three suspension set-ups will be offered, depending on likely usage.
Four variants of the new model are being created: XR, XT, XT Pack and the curiously named Ushuaia Grand Raid— apparently named after a French TV action programme.
The company has yet to decide which variants will be offered in the UK, but with production scheduled to begin in October a spokesman says the new model should be here "at the very end of November or in early December". List prices have not yet been determined, he adds.
