13irkenhead Corporation has recommended the acceptance of tenders for the supply of nine Daimler Fleetline rearengined double-decker bus chassis at a cost of £3,396 each and M.C.W. doubledeck bodies for them at a cost of £3,720 each.
Also recommended for purchase are four Leyland single-decker bus chassis at £2.320 each and bodies for them to be built by Massey Bros. Ltd. at £2,685 each. The single-deckers and the Fleetline chassis are scheduled for delivery in 1964.
Birkenhead Corporation, which until now has favoured front-engined rearentrance 27-ft.-long double-deckers, recently 4bperated both Daimler Fleetline and 'Leyland Atlantean rear-engined rnode!s in experimental servi:e.
