A warning that the level of water in a vehicle cooling system has reached a dangerous level is given by the Radolarm equipment from Thomas Electronics. Until now, larger commercial vehicles only were catered for but with the RAD/2 version, which is for 12V operation, lighter vehicles also can be fitted out with the equipment.
A probe fits into the radiator header tank and this is coupled to a transistorized electroniccontrol unit and standard indicator lamp. An existing indicator lamp on the vehicle can be utilized and when the probe is not in contact with coolant the lamp is illuminated to show that the level is too low.
