• Protests about the activities of the Transport Holding Company were made in the Commons by Tory MPs this week. Mr Anthony Berry claimed that it was acting -more or less as travel agents" and suggested it should be wound up under the provisions of the Transport Act 1968.
Mr Fred Mulley said he had no plans for winding up the company. He added: "It does seem to me that it would be right to retain this arrangement for the supervision of Thomas Cook, which is an important company in the travel field."
